Don Talley, Ph.D.

Do you sometimes explode in seemingly uncontrollable anger?

Are you at times paralyzed by depression often unable to brush your teeth or even get out of bed in the morning?

Do you get trapped in your own home consumed by fear and anxiety?

Did you perhaps have something really bad happen to you in your past that is now impacting many areas of your life?

Perhaps you are driving your friends and loved one away with your words and actions and can’t understand why.

Many of my clients come to me with similar concerns and often turn to making an appointment to see me with a sense of hopelessness. Today you are one step closer to living a more enjoyable life, improving your ability to manage your emotions, and rebuilding close relationships.

My goal is to help you to understand your emotions with the end result of developing skills to better engage with life on positive terms.

I offer common sense counseling that you can use in your everyday life!

I am a clinical and forensic psychologist, licensed in the State of California. I am also a Board Certified Counselor having met the national standards for the practice of psychotherapy counseling.

My office is in Santa Rosa, CA, part of the beautiful wine country of Northern California. I am fortunate to have clients travel from a broad geographic area from Mendocino (Mendocino County) to Napa (Napa County) and Hidden Valley Lake (Lake County) to Bodega Bay (Sonoma County) to seek my services.

Through clinical psychology, I provide adult individual psychotherapy, consultation, supervision, and therapy for therapists. In the realm of forensic psychology, I offer assessments, evaluations, consultation, and expert witness services.

Using Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and humanistic techniques; all with a strong emphasis on mindfulness practices much of my work includes those severely struggling with their ability to control their emotions. Today, we use words like Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, and Schizophrenia to describe these individuals. While it is true that many therapists shy away from work with these individuals, I have had success in assisting them to a life worth living.
